| Requirements:
Scholarship winners will be chosen based on their academic record and their interest in teaching elementary school, middle school general science, or high school chemistry. As incoming freshmen, they must be enrolled as Chemistry or General Science majors. Students must remain in the Chemistry or General Science Major and a teacher licensure program and must also maintain a 3.0 GPA to retain the scholarship each year.
How to Apply: You will automatically be considered for this scholarship when you apply to WSC as a Chemistry or General Science major (the WSC application doubles as the scholarship application for students who specify an interest in either major). Semi-finalists may be asked to visit Westfield State to meet with faculty in the Physical Science Department. To obtain an application to WSC, call the Admissions Office at (413) 572-5218 or apply online. The deadline for receipt of WSC applications is March 1, 2010 and offers of these scholarships may be made as early as mid-February.
