Congratulations to Dr. Christopher Masi and Dr. Warren Turner, both of whom were granted tenure and promoted to the rank of Associate Professor, effective September 1, 2009. Dr. Frank Giuliano took over as department chair on July 1, 2009, replacing Professor Mike Young, who's held the position for the past six years. Dr. Warren Turner spent the latter part of May, 2009 in Washington D.C. coaching the U.S. Physics Olympic Team. In July he accompanied the team to Mexico, where they tied for second place overall (with four gold medals and one silver)! You can see photos of the trip on the team's blog. |
